Poker Face by Trigger--Happy Poker Face by Trigger--Happy
Zipper has a serious gambling problem. He never wins, yet he's willing to bet it all to win. He's not above lying, cheating or stealing to win, either.

Haha! Well, they're buttons, so I suppose it's because it makes him resemble a voodoo doll. I kind of think he's adorable, but in all honesty, he WAS inspired by Slipknot.

Oooooh, I thought they looked like shiny green eyes with no pupils and big highlights. ^^; My mistake.

Haha! It happens. I guess since I removed the lip in the interest of simplicity, it's a bit harder to tell. Though, I may include the lip if I 3D model him. I'll also include the seams. It's just a LOT harder and more painful to animate with all the detail I had in him before. I'm glad I simplified him!

Yeah, simplification is always good. Like my backgrounds!

Especially in 2D animation! It all comes down to doing whatever it takes to complete a production. If you get too complex with 2D, it can really cripple you in the deadline department.

Yup! That happened with a lot of Ren & Stimpy episodes.

Well, John K just tried too hard to recreate the golden age of animation. That's not possible, considering studios back then had anywhere from 5-10 animators and didn't produce episodes as often as we do today. I respect John's efforts but ultimately, that's what got him fired from the show. As awesome as producing good hand drawn 2D today sounds, it's next to impossible. The industry has changed a lot and it would just be inefficient.

Haha! I suppose he would resemble a voodoo doll, since his eyes are buttons. His mouth is a zipper and he's a living stuffed animal, which can be a scary combination, but I personally think he's adorable. Then again, he WAS inspired by Slipknot. I used to really like that band waaaaaaaayyyyyyy back in the day. I can't listen to them anymore but one day the thought occurred to me of; What if a character had a zipper for a mouth? So I created Zipper, a living, stuffed red panda.
