The Original MiniNova by Trigger--Happy The Original MiniNova by Trigger--Happy
This was just something to quench my thirst for traditional art and crush my craving for good old nostalgia. This is the original design for MiniNova from way back in 2011 when I first created him. I really like how it turned out, to be honest. Mixed media on sketch. Markers and colored pencil.

This drawing makes me want to draw again the first character I've ever drawn 10 years ago.

Cool! It's always good to go back to your roots once in a while. While the reasons for change and redesigns are necessary since design is constantly evolving, it's good to rediscover where it all started in the first place.

Man, with that shading, he really got that intense look to him. But it's true that without his 'furcheek' on the side of his face, he looks kinda... odd. To me anyways. But I must say it again, that shading is simply AMAZING!

Thanks sweets! Oh yeah, that's only because this was the original design for him, minus the star medallion and the design on the cape. Not a lot of my watchers and friends have seen this version too much but it's the original design before the cheeks were added. Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

Well for an early scraps, you sure knew your stuff, since here it already looks like the MiniNova of today!

Sort of. The head and some other aspects are different and I adapted it to the newer, with traces of the old. I got rid of the coin like medallion entirely, which he had originally but it was too plain.

Thank you! Oh, pish posh! I'm sure you could do it if you tried and someone gave you the right direction.

I've been cutting loose and doing some traditional myself. It feels so good...

It really does. I've only either been doing digital or tradigital lately. It feels good to rediscover my roots. It's been almost a year since the last traditional piece I drew.

Thank you! The original design was much simpler.
